Michael Schoonover was born in Kansas City, where he honed his skills on the football field, wrestling mat, and lacrosse field during his high school years. Despite humble beginnings, Michael is the first in his family to pursue higher education, a journey that led him to Florida. Determined to finance his studies independently, he juggled multiple jobs, facing the challenges of navigating a new state.
His entry into the mortgage industry marked a pivotal moment in his career trajectory, with stints at esteemed institutions such as PNC Bank, EverBank, Citi Bank, and TIAA. Michael keenly observed the limitations imposed by rigid lending criteria, recognizing the barriers it posed for deserving borrowers. Motivated by a commitment to foster inclusive homeownership, he ventured into entrepreneurship, founding his own mortgage brokerage in 2019.
Michael’s ethos revolves around a profound belief that lending should transcend mere numbers, acknowledging the unique circumstances of each client.
